DAILY WORDS OF HOPE
BY PCG, HOPE CONGREGATION–SAK. EST
TODAY’S VERSE: 1 CORINTHIANS 9:25-27
THEME: BE PURPOSEFUL AND NOT AIMLESS
WORDS OF HOPE:
The purpose of a thing is defined as that for which that thing was made. It determines the position of the thing and where purpose is not known, abuse is inevitable.
According to Philippians 3:12, our purpose is the reason for which Christ Jesus took a hold of us and made us His own. Generally, as Christians, Christ Jesus took a hold of us so that we may declare His praises – show forth His
glory where we are and in whatever we do. Individually, however, Jesus has a definite purpose for our lives because we are particular members of His body. Paul’s purpose was to bring the gospel to the gentiles, Peter was called to the Jews. God has a specific purpose for your life and the good news is you can find it by the help of the Holy Spirit who lives in the inside of you.
When you discover the purpose of Christ for your life, keep your focus on it and do not allow yourself to be distracted. This is what it means to be purposeful. If God has called you into business, stay focused. If you are into education stay focused. There are too many of God’s children who are distracted. They compare themselves to others and get sidetracked. Once you are distracted, you will be aimless like a boxer who throws punches in the air instead of on target. When this happens, you become frustrated and disenchanted.
The Holy Spirit, according to Jesus will teach us all things and will guide us into all truth. Even now, open your heart to Him and ask Him to show you what your purpose is. He wants you to succeed even much more than you want for yourself; therefore, trust Him to reveal your assignment to you and to help you fulfil it. Write it down as He reveals it and commits yourself to it fully. God bless your good heart.
• Pray and ask God for insight into His purpose for your life and the grace to fulfil same.
• Let’s pray for all Christians the world over who are frustrated that God’s light will shine in their understanding and hearts to turn to the right paths.
Heavenly Father, thank you that I’m set on the right paths to follow and my paths are shining brighter and brighter unto the perfect day in Jesus’ name. Amen
