Ga Presbytery Chairperson, Clerk embark on pastoral visit to Sakumono District of PCG

The Chairperson of the Ga Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye assisted by Clerk of Presbytery, Rev. Solomon Nii Mensah Adjei have paid a working visit to the Sakumono District of the Church

The visit was to afford them the opportunity to interact and observe the life and ministry of the church in the Sakumono District.

On Friday May 14, 2021, Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye interacted with all the youth in the district at the Hope Congregation, Sakumono Estates. He also held a meeting with all Agents, Presbyters, Group Leaders and Chairpersons of Committees on Saturday, May 15, 2021.

He had earlier visited the various locals and preaching points in the Sakumono District to interact with members of the church.

The Chairperson of the Ga Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye and the Clerk of Presbytery, Rev. Solomon Nii Mensah Adjei were joined by their respective families to worship with the Hope Congregation on Sunday , May 16, 2021.

Addressing the congregation on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at the Hope Congregation, the Chairperson of the Ga Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye expressed appreciation to the District Minister, Rev Emmanuel Obeng Ntow and the leadership of the District for giving him the opportunity to see parts of the districts and to witness the life and ministry that is taking place in the Sakumono District.

He said he was excited at the different things that were happening in the various congregations and preaching points and equally excited to interact with the youth.

As a people of God, next, in 2022, the Ga Presbytery will be 100 years and praying for a great celebration. He urged members of the congregation to join in celebrating God’s goodness in our lives.

He explained that the centenary celebration should not only be a period of joy but an opportunity for members to share their faith with others. “I believe that the greatest testimony we can give at a time like this where we celebrate the centenary of the Ga Presbytery is sharing our faith with our neighbours, helping people to know that Jesus Christ is with us, He is lord and He loves all”

He therefore charged the congregation to use the period to share their faith with others and emulate the examples that the Lord expects of us. “Let us go out and let others who do not know Jesus Christ to come to the saving faith of Jesus”

Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye said the Ga Presbytery has embarked on a worship pavilion project is part of General Assembly’s decision to build over 300 hundred of such facilities to help congregants in less endowed areas who usually worship under trees and tents to have convenient places of worship.

He entreated all congregations, Districts, individuals, groups and families to support this worthy cause of the Presbytery in alleviating the plights of people with no decent place of worship in the Presbytery especially in the rural communities.

The Ga Presbytery Chairperson acknowledged the support the Sakumono District of the PCG has provided to the congregations in the district, stressing that in some of the congregations in the district, the District Session has assisted in the construction of chapels, and embarked on other infrastructure projects.

He commended the District Minister and members of the District Session Council for the very good work they have been doing in the congregations and preaching points

Rev. Dr. Abraham Nana Opare Kwakye on behalf of Ga Presbytery Council donated GH c 10,000 to the Sakumono District to support the work of the ministry in the district.

Rev Emmanuel Obeng Ntow expressed appreciation to the Presbytery Chairperson and Clerk for the visit and support towards the work of God.
