HOPE Congregation appoints new Administrator and two other key staff

Mrs Gifty Ami Boakye has been appointed the new administrator of the Hope Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana.

Mrs Boakye’s appointment takes effect from July 1, 2016, taking over from Mr David Kwaku Laud Lawson. The new church administrator holds a BSc Business Administration obtained from University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) and has experience having worked as an Administrative Secretary of the Nurses and Midwives Council of Ghana. She had previously worked with Royal Eco Limited as a Customer Care Officer and Secretary.

Her contribution has helped to bring significant benefits to the organizations she has worked for and is looking forward to help grow the HOPE Congregation. Mrs Boakye who is married with three children, is a member of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana and an active member of the Ga Presbytery Church Choir’s Union where she served as a Secretary.

Touching on her vision as the new administrator of the Hope Congregation, she said in the next year or two, her desire is to see the church charting a path towards the corporate world where the entire staff would not see the office as a mere Church Office but will apply professional ethics in the discharge of their duties and responsibility with due diligence. “I want to see a Hope Congregation, where the congregants would see the staff as assets and not liabilities”, she added.

Other appointments made by the church are an Accountant and General Services Officer, namely Mrs Josephine Agyeiwaa Apronti and Mrs. Belinda Ohene Opare Addo respectively.

The new Accounts Officer holds a BSc. Admin. (Accounting option) and prior to her appointment worked with Akosombo Textiles Limited.  She is also an active member of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana and served as Financial Secretary of the Young People’s Guild.

The new General Services Officer of the church, Mrs. Belinda  Ohene Opare Addo is also an active member of Hope Congregation having joined in 1992. She holds a certificate in Public relations from the Ghana Institute Journalism as well an Entrepreneurial Management from University of Ghana Business School. She comes also holds public relations level 4 from Stonebridge associated colleges(UK) and  a  diploma certificate in secretaryship from YWCA and Manifold tutorial college.

She has previously worked at the National Media Commission and Africa Christian Relief Organisation, as an administrative officer.  She is married with two children.
