Hope YAF 10th Anniversary launched

The 10th  anniversary celebrations of the Young Adults Fellowship(YAF) of the Sakumono -Estates Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana has been launched. Rev. Mrs Akua Appiah Ansah performed the official event to launch to anniversary celebrations on Sunday, September 18, 2016 in all three Sunday services.

YAF was formed by the Church to address mid-life challenges of church members who fall within the age 30 and 40 and to ensure that such categories of people remain in the church.
The theme for the 10th anniversary this year was “Anointing of the Holy Spirit; Anointed for Excellent Leadership”

Members of YAF staged a short sketch to highlight the role of the group in the Church’s life while a short documentary on the journey so far was screened to the congregation while the official anniversary logo was also unveiled.

Preaching on the theme; “You cannot serve God and Wealth’ Mr Alfred Kwasi Opoku, the immediate past Senior Presbyter of the HOPE CONGREGATION tasked Christians to commit themselves to God and he will show them how to worship him and live in riches. He said although money can be a master, those who love God live a life of content and accept God’s lordship over them as their creator.

Earlier on Saturday,  members of HOPE -YAF together with their families embarked on a fun trip to the Sajuna Beach Club for a period of relaxation and de-stressing.

Other activities lined up for the anniversary include a  Choralfest in the evening of Sunday, September 18, 2016. It will feature Sakumono Youth Choir, GHOPOHA CHOIR and the Music Ministry of HOPE congregation. A business talk is lined up on Monday, 19th September, 2016, on the  topic; “A Christian Youth in Business: How to Survive in Difficult Economic Times”

It will be followed on Tuesday, 20th September, 2016 with a quiz for the Generational Groups within the congregation. There will be a worship night led by Obaapa Linda and the Royals on Wednesday, 21st and Thursday, 22nd September, 2016 and Friday will be a Revival to be followed by a Night of HOPE on the Friday.

A dinner event is scheduled for Saturday, 24th September, 2016. The anniversary will be climaxed on Sunday, 25th September, 2016 with a Thanksgiving Service, awards and graduation in all three services.
