Who is a Prophet? A person called for special purpose, a seer, a spokesperson for God (Deut. 18: 18).
He tells about the future and the present and s/he is a channel for spreading God’s word.
We need prophets to explain the word of God to the people. Prophets give special message i.e.
punishment or blessing (Micah 5: 2-4 & Amos 7: 7-17). They take the word and give to the people.
As Christians, We have covenant of our calling with God (Jeremiah 1: 4-10). He says
• Do not be afraid.
• I am with you and will rescue you.
• The Lord reached out his hand and touched my mouth.
• I have put my words in your mouth (Isa 6: 4-7).
• To uproot and tear down.
• To destroy and overthrow.
• To build and to plant.
Once we make up our mind to do God’s work, we will be rejected by many and also make a lot of
enemies. We are therefore exalted to prepare to suffer, knowing well that the mercy of God is available
for us as we do his work (Luke 4: 22-30).
Dear brethren, God is asking “If your heart is right with me then give me your hand”. Have a great week.
Amen.
