Royals of Hope launches maiden album
The Royals of Hope, a gospel music ministry within the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Hope Congregation, Sakumono Estates have launched their maiden album.
The seven-track album, titled “Presby Praise”, produced in conjunction with the Singing Band and featured Eunice Coffie and Sammie Obeng Poku was launched on Sunday, December 15, 2024.
The album features a blend of beloved Presbyterian hymns, popular Ghanaian worship and praise songs, Singing Band tunes, all re-arranged with a contemporary touch, along with original compositions by the group.
Rev Daniel Amoako Nyarko, the Sakumono District Minister and Minister in Charge of the Hope Congregation lauded the leadership of the Church and the group for birthing an album that ministers to all.
A former Senior Presbyter of the Hope Congregation, Mr. Alfred Kwesi Opoku commended the Royals of Hope for preserving the heritage of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana and its hymns.
“You know these days, it’s like almost every song we hear, you must dance but that is not it. It is not every time that we dance to every song, so they have preserved what is Presbyterian.” He said adding that the collection on the album demands that anytime that one hears it, it calls a deep reflection over the words.
He indicated that the Royals of Hope did not also forget about the youth as there were some of the songs that one could shake themselves to even while driving.
As part of the launch, the Royals of Hope presented a citation to Mr. Samuel O. Akrofi, a former Music Director who inspired the album during his tenure as music director of Royals of Hope.
