DAILY WORDS OF HOPE
BY PCG, HOPE CONGREGATION–SAK. EST
I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:14
THEME: PRESS ON
WORDS OF HOPE:
We are told that, to press on means to continue moving forward in a forceful or steady way. Paul mentions that he presses on for the one most single agenda. He avoided distraction. He was clear where he was headed. He tells us that he is stretching forward and he is reaching for his goal. He is not only concentrating, he is straining forward. The image is like that of running in a race. Thomas Edison made 1,000 unsuccessful attempts at inventing the light bulb. When a reporter asked, “How did it feel to fail 1,000 times?” Edison replied, “I didn’t fail 1,000 times. The light bulb was an invention with 1,000 steps.” Focus on the goal so as to be determined to reach it. If you don’t have a goal in your walk with the Lord, in your education, in your marriage life, you cannot press on, pressing towards what? Simple! Look at this:
Press on. Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence.
Talent will not; Nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
Genius will not; Unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not;
The world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination
alone are important.
· Pray for the spirit to press on.
· Pray to be focused.
· Pray for the spirit of determination and persistence.
I pray in the name of Jesus that God will grant you the grace to persist to the end. Amen 🙏🏽
