TODAY’S VERSE:
As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When can I go and meet with God? My tears have been my food day and night, while people say to me all day long, “Where is your God?” These things I remember as I pour out my soul: how I used to go to the house of God under the protection of the Mighty One[d] with shouts of joy and praise among the festive throng. Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God. My soul is downcast within me; therefore I will remember you

WORDS OF HOPE:
Martin J. Nystrom`s all time classic, “As the deer pants for water” based on Psalm 42:1, depicts exactly what the Christian soul should go after. The first and second stanzas: “As the deer pants for the water, so my soul longs after you. You alone are my heart`s desire and I long to worship you. I want you more than gold and silver; only you can satisfy. You alone are the real joy giver and on you I can rely.”
Scripture shows in Matthew and Mark that Jesus Himself carried out spiritual retreats to build Himself up spiritually for Ministry. You need to have a spiritual retreat in the New Year for yourself alone and also with family. You must be thirsty and hungry for God`s word and also seek His face to move through the year victoriously. The Lord shows Himself to His children in different ways during spiritual retreats and the benefits are enormous.
PRAYER POINTS:
· Pray for directions on Spiritual retreats with God.
· Pray for God`s assistance in your spiritual decisions.
· Pray for a visitation in your retreats.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord Jesus, I ask you to be the decision maker in my life this entire year. I pray for grace to thirst and hunger for your word at all times.
