DAILY WORDS OF HOPE
BY PCG, HOPE CONGREGATION–SAK. EST
TODAY’S VERSE: ROMANS 8:12
THEME: VICTORY OVER THE FLESH II
WORDS OF HOPE:
The flesh, we have learnt is limited. Your eyes can only see as far as your vision will allow. The same for your hearing and other senses. Sadly, this is how many a Christian live their lives to their own detriment.
Life is very spiritual. It is not physical at all, therefore it is not only limiting to live by the flesh, but it is also suicidal – death. Consequent to this, never start a business just because the returns look good. Do not marry a woman just because she is beautiful or marry a man because he is well to do. Business is more than the returns that will accrue out of it and marriage is more than a beautiful wife or a rich husband. Similarly, do not change jobs just because of a bigger salary or travel abroad because of promised greener pastures. The full picture exists with God and that is why you must trust Him alone to chart the course of your life.
When you pray, trust God to reveal His heart and His mind to you. He will always show us great and mighty things we don’t know of and the good news is they are all embedded in His word. Even now turn to God in prayer concerning that business opportunity which looks juicy. Ask Him about the school you are deciding to attend and the house you are planning to relocate to. They are important. Lot, Abraham’s nephew, went to live in Sodom and his life and that of His family did not end as God intended. He saw greener pastures and made his decision based on
that; he practically ended up in a hellish place.
Today, commit all your plans to God in prayer;
• Thank Him for all the opportunities and challenges.
• Ask Him to guide you rightly into all His purposes for you.
Thank you for lighting my paths with truth and excellence in Jesus’ name. Amen
