DAILY WORDS OF HOPE

TODAY’S VERSE: PHILEMON 1:6
THEME: ACKNOWLEDGE EVERY GOOD THING WITHIN YOU
WORDS OF HOPE:
Many Christians wonder why they are not getting results even though they act by faith. Some even wonder if faith works at all. Faith really does work. The scriptures are replete with several accounts of how many acted out their faith and the results they got.
In the book of Philemon, the apostle Paul exposes us to yet another truth. He was so intoxicated with this truth he made it a prayer for Philemon. Paul reveals that for the faith of God’s people to be operative, functional or effectual we must learn to acknowledge every good thing that is within us. This means the Christian is not empty at all. God, via His Holy Spirit who lives in the Christian invested so much within us when we believed in Christ. For instance, in Romans 5:5, we discover the Holy Spirit has shed abroad the love of Christ in us. In Romans 12:3, we discover that God has given each of us faith. As we have learnt earlier, Jesus has become unto us wisdom, righteousness, sanctification and redemption.
[1 Corinthians 1:30].
These investments of God, plus more must be acknowledged. The Greek word used for acknowledge is ginosko and it means full discernment, recognize, become fully acquainted, to come to know fully. Paul thus teaches that we must recognize (not overlook) and become fully acquainted with all that God has invested or programmed into our spirits. It is your responsibility and you can fully discharge this responsibility when you commit to studying God’s word and
living by it.
Beloved, make a commitment to studying God’s word voraciously. Develop a huge appetite for it and as you discover truths during your study, do not overlook them but become fully acquainted – meditate on it day and night. As you do these, the end result is so amazing – your faith and its expressions become operative. You witness tangible results. Love is at work within you. You have eternal life in you. God’s righteousness, wisdom, joy, sanctification etc. are all at work within you. Get excited and affirm them all. Hallelujah!
• Praise God for the workings of His goodness in your life and other believers the world over.
• Declare that love is at work within you and you are not subject to bitterness. Declare faith is at work within you and so is joy and wisdom.
Heavenly Father, what a great life you have called me into. Predestination is at work within me. I deal wisely in all the affairs of life because Jesus is my wisdom. I praise you LORD for an excellent life. I win always in Jesus’ name. Amen
