TODAY’S VERSE: (Read 2 Samuel 9:1-13)
“Don’t be afraid,” David said to him, “for I will surely show you kindness for the sake of your father Jonathan. I will restore to you all the land that belonged to your grandfather Saul, and you will always eat at my table.”
2 Samuel 9:7
WORDS OF HOPE:
The lame Mephibosheth benefitted immensely from the love which existed between his father Jonathan and King David. He never expected to receive invitation to sit and dine at the King`s table the rest of his life whiles at Lo Debar. The kind gesture by King David brought a breakthrough in his life as he also received all the lands belonging to his grandfather King Saul.
The influence of Jonathan on King David as a result of the love which existed between them was very positive in every way as it had a lasting impact on David long after Jonathan had departed into glory. Bible described the love Jonathan had for David as that for his own soul and he made a covenant with him. As Christians, our influence on others should be positive at all times and it should leave imprints even when we are absent. We have a duty to love all and hate none as Christ loved us. God put love in us during creation, and we must show that love towards others as we positively impact their lives.
PRAYER POINTS:
• Pray for God to show you the way to love another as brothers and sisters.
• Ask the Holy Spirit to equip you in your quest to help others.
• Ask the Holy to help you possess positive lifestyle to influence others.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, I need you to rekindle your love within me. Help to show your love toward mankind and be a positive influence on others.
