DAILY WORDS OF HOPE
BY PCG, HOPE CONGREGATION–SAK. EST
TODAY’S VERSE: (Read Exodus 33:12-23)
“Moses said to the LORD, “You have been telling me, ‘Lead these people,’ but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. You have said, ‘I know you by name and you have found favor with me.’ 13 If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people.”
THEME: LET ME KNOW YOUR WAYS
WORDS OF HOPE:
The best of friends sometimes go through seasons of fear and same can be true in a friendship with God. The passage immediately follows the narrator’s affirmation that the Lord used to speak with Moses face to face as one friend speaks to another. Although God seems to respond generously to Moses’ three petitions (33: 12-15, 15-16, 18), Moses asks repeatedly for more concessions or for proof of God’s good intentions. Moses was asking for God’s physical presence to accompany Him in the journey. It is important to always seek assistance from the Lord when we are in doubt. He knows the way and as such He can direct you better. Look at the way Moses was interacting with God. You have to grow in your relationship with the Lord so that you can have the privilege of communicating to God like a friend. It is this relation that will cause you to ask him to show you His ways as far as a particular issue is concerned. In Exodus 33: 17, we read, “And the LORD said to Moses, “I will do the very thing you have asked, because I am pleased with you and I know you by name.” Moses was thus asking that if you are pleased with me, let me know your ways as far as this matter is concerned. Reflect on this statement carefully, “I am pleased with you”. Is the Lord pleased with your attitude and how you behave? Assess yourself throughout the day.
• Pray that God will show you the way.
• Pray for the grace to know the Lord.
• Pray for God to know you.
Holy Father, show me your ways in the name of Jesus. Amen 🙏🏽
