DAILY WORDS OF HOPE
BY PCG, HOPE CONGREGATION–SAK. EST
TODAY’S VERSE: ACTS 1:1-4
THEME: GOD`S GIFT OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
WORDS OF HOPE:
In our previous study, we acknowledged that God is Spirit
Walking in the spirit is a journey of God’s consciousness requiring the believer to remember that God is with him. It’s having Him foremost in all your affections and thoughts. It’s pursuing God with all of your heart, soul and mind (Matt. 22:37) and serving Him alone. It’s to have no other gods apart from Him and serving God alone. The Holy Spirit is one of God’s most precious gifts to His beloved children. He takes up residence within the believer at the moment of salvation and empowers him to overcome sin and live for God’s glory and purposes.
Our walk with God requires sacrifices. In sacrificing, we forgo most precious desires and possessions that take away our focus from God. In walking with the Lord, God demanded from Abraham his son to test his love for Him (God). In passing the test, Abraham showed how he loved the Lord and his trust in Him. Walking in the Spirit denotes reliance
upon Him. He leads the way, and we follow. As He speaks, we listen, heeding to His warnings, and obeying His directions. The Spirit’s way is a path of surrender which although difficult, leads to fullness of life.
Remember by walking in the Spirit, you allow the Spirit to lead since He knows all things and you are limited in knowing and therefore, He teaches and directs your path unto success.
• Thank God for the fellowship and companionship of the Holy Spirit in your life
• Seek the Holy Spirit to help you yield your life as a living sacrifice to God
• Pray for the grace to consistently live by the Spirit
Heavenly Father, thank you for calling me to walk in the Spirit. I pray that you will help me to be conscious of you and glorify you in this walk-in Jesus Name Amen!
