DAILY WORDS OF HOPE
BY PCG, HOPE CONGREGATION–SAK. EST
TODAY’S VERSE: DANIEL 6:1-10
THEME: A LIFESTYLE OF PRAYERFULNESS (1)
WORDS OF HOPE:
As we study the passage and learn of Daniel’s prominence in the courts of Babylon, we also learn about his rivals and their ploy to discredit him. It is worthy to note that they could not find issues with his character or work as Daniel distinguished himself in every way. Despite the busy schedule and responsibilities of running an empire, he kept a regular personal time with God. He revered his time with God so much that even his opponents knew of his habit of prayer and would use that as the basis of their attack on him.
In spite of the decree, he did not go to the King to complain thinking perhaps he could gain some favour, instead, he went home and prayed to God without changing one element of his habit. His present situation did not deter him from his audience with his God. For him, it was just another day to thank the Lord and trust Him.
When we make it a daily habit to spend time with God in prayer, we are unperturbed by situations around us. We know that despite the evil, oppression and hopelessness around us, we thank Him through it all. We find in Him strength for each day and each situation and we trust Him to deliver us! (Dan. 11:32)
• Thank the Lord for His inspiration to us to live each day trusting Him
• Ask the Holy Spirit to help you create the spiritual discipline of daily prayer and audience with God.
• Pray for the grace to live a prayer life
Lord, in you will I find strength for each day. Help me to live for you. Amen
