THEME: PRAY ACCORDING TO GOD’S WILL (1)
WORDS OF HOPE:
We have the confidence to ask anything according to His will and He will answer us. Great! And then we often ask ourselves: “How can I know what the will of God is?”
When we think of a shepherd leading his sheep, the sheep regard him as their shepherd and he likewise takes care of them. He knows each of them and they know him. He knows where the pastures are and where the dangers and predators lurk. He leads them out and in.
To be able to pray according to the will of God, first, we must surrender to the Lordship of Christ in our lives and then in our daily lives live for Him. Many Christians profess Jesus as Saviour but often fail to regard Him as their Lord and master, their shepherd.
When we submit ourselves completely to the Lordship of Christ, we are like the sheep that regard their shepherd and trust him to lead them to greener pastures. We do not go finding our own pastures, no, we depend on him knowing that He will use us to accomplish His purposes and through that reveal His will to us.
PRAYER TOPICS:
• Reflect and surrender yourself to God, ask Him to lead you and ask the Holy Spirit to help you be a true follower
• Ask the Lord to help you pray, trusting in His will.
• Ask the Holy Spirit to teach you to understand the Word so you can know His will
PRAYER:
Lord, you are my Saviour and Master, help me live in obedience to your leading and accomplish your purposes through my life. Amen
