DAILY WORDS OF HOPE
BY PCG, HOPE CONGREGATION–SAK. EST
TODAY’S VERSE: MARK 13:5-23
TOPIC: BE DISCERNING
WORDS OF HOPE:
Jesus teaches us some signs of the end times. He mentions conflicts, wars, earthquakes, famines, persecutions, etc. as some of the signs. He cautions us that many will come in His name claiming to be the Messiah. False prophets will also abound and perform many signs and wonders to deceive; even if possible God’s chosen ones. Really? God’s chosen ones have the tendency to be deceived? Yeah, that is what Jesus said.
How then can God’s chosen ones stand against those deceptions? We need the spirit of discernment. Christians of today need to be like the early church in Ephesus who were able to test those who claimed to be apostles but are not and found them to be false (Revelation 2:2). We need to use discernment to listen to those who claim to have all the details of the end times figured out and ignore those who resort to date setting for end-time events because no man knows the hour. There is a saying “The first point of wisdom is to discern that which is false; the second, to know that which is true.” Jesus is coming very soon.
• Thank God for the knowledge given us about the signs of the end times.
• Pray that you will be able to discern between false and true teachings at all times.
• Pray for the grace not to fall for any deceptions.
Oh Lord, grant unto us the grace to be discerning so we will not be deceived in Jesus name. Amen.
